Protecting Your Hua Jade's Jewelry

Once again, thank you for your trust in HUA JADE!

First of all, jadeite jade is very tough and stable mineral, it can be soaked in water, clean with mild soap, and it’s very hard to get scratches unless with some harder material (in hardness scale, jadeite is around 7, diamond is 10).

Do's

- Store your jewelry in a jewelry box (or the original box) to prevent scratches and precious metal get tarnished.

- Please be extra careful when you taking off your jade jewelry, especially for bangles and rings.

- Please remove your jewelry during exercise to avoid damaging your jewelry.

- If you do not wear the jewelry for a long time, please place it in a sealed bag and store it in a dry, dark place in order to prevent precious metal get tarnished.

- Clean your jewelry with a soft polishing cloth or a soft sponge.

- Wear your jewelry with care and mindfulness.

- Different types of gemstones have varying levels of hardness and should be stored or worn separately to avoid scratching or damage.

Don'ts

- Jade is a natural mineral, and it has inherent brittleness and fractures. Please avoid collisions with hard objects or dropping it on the ground.

- Avoid submerging or exposing your Hua Jade's jewelry to water or chemicals.

- Refrain from wearing your jewelry during heavy-duty tasks.

- Do not clean your jewelry with strong household cleaners or abrasive cloths.

- Avoid contact with chemicals such as lotions and perfumes, as they are meant for your skin only.

- Do not swim or bathe while wearing your jewelry. (Jadeite jade has no problem to soak in the water, the reason we don’t recommend it is because that activity includes water could be risky for slippery. Also, precious metals might be tarnished from certain chemicals in the pool or daily care products)

- Avoid placing it in high-temperature environments, such as during a sauna or hot spring bath.

It is normal for precious metal products to oxidize and darken due to prolonged wear or improper care. And yes, 18k gold (75% gold) can be tarnished, but it's very resistant. The 25% alloy metals (like copper, silver) react with air, moisture, sweat, and chemicals, causing dullness or dark spots over time. But do not worry, with the right tarnish remover, the darken part could be removed.
